By creating a WordRay account or using WordRay, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. About WordRay
WordRay is a focused reading application that allows users to import or enter text, save documents, adjust reading presentation, track reading progress, create bookmarks and synchronize supported account data.
References to “WordRay”, “we”, “us” or “our” in these terms refer to the WordRay application and its developer.
2. Eligibility
You must be legally capable of agreeing to these terms. If you are below the age at which you can independently consent to online services in your country, you may use WordRay only with the authorization of a parent or legal guardian.
WordRay is not intended for children under 13.
3. Your account
Some WordRay functionality requires an account. You agree to:
- Provide an email address that you are authorized to use
- Keep your password and account access secure
- Not share or transfer your account to another person
- Notify us if you believe that your account has been accessed without authorization
You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by a failure for which WordRay is legally responsible.
4. License to use WordRay
Subject to these terms, WordRay grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to install and use the application for its intended purpose.
This right does not transfer ownership of WordRay, its software, design, branding or other intellectual property.
5. Your content
You retain any rights that you already hold in text, documents, notes and other content that you provide to WordRay.
You grant WordRay a limited right to host, process, reproduce and transmit your content only as reasonably necessary to:
- Provide the features you request
- Save and synchronize your WordRay library
- Process supported document formats
- Maintain, secure and troubleshoot the service
This limited permission ends when the relevant content or account is deleted, except where temporary backup retention or a legal obligation applies.
6. Your responsibility for content
You are responsible for content that you import, paste, save or otherwise process through WordRay.
You agree that you will not use WordRay to:
- Infringe copyright or other intellectual-property rights
- Store or distribute content that you are not authorized to use
- Violate privacy, confidentiality or data-protection rights
- Distribute malware or harmful code
- Conduct fraud, harassment or other unlawful activity
- Attempt to interfere with or compromise the service
WordRay does not grant you rights to books, articles, documents or other third-party material merely because that material can be processed by the application.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract WordRay source code except where applicable law expressly permits it
- Circumvent technical limitations, account restrictions or security measures
- Access WordRay through unauthorized automated methods
- Probe, scan or test vulnerabilities without written authorization
- Use the service in a way that unreasonably burdens its infrastructure
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your relationship with WordRay
- Resell or commercially redistribute the service without written permission
8. Document conversion and reading features
WordRay may extract or recognize text from supported document formats. Results may contain formatting differences, missing text, recognition errors or other inaccuracies.
You should verify important content against the original document. WordRay is not responsible for decisions made solely on the basis of automatically extracted or recognized text.
Reading-speed estimates, progress indicators, language detection and text-to-speech behavior are convenience features and may vary depending on content, device and operating-system capabilities.
9. Health and accessibility notice
WordRay is a general reading tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological, educational or diagnostic advice.
If the presentation of rapidly changing text causes discomfort, eye strain, dizziness or other symptoms, stop using that reading mode and seek appropriate professional advice if necessary.
10. Service availability and changes
We may update, improve, replace or discontinue WordRay features. We may also temporarily limit access when reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, capacity or legal reasons.
We do not guarantee that every feature will be available on every device, platform or operating-system version.
Where reasonably possible, we will avoid making changes that unnecessarily prevent users from accessing or exporting their own content.
11. Free and paid functionality
WordRay may offer functionality subject to usage limits and may introduce optional paid plans or purchases.
Any price, billing period, renewal condition and included feature will be shown before purchase. Purchases made through an app store are also subject to that store’s billing and refund rules.
Nothing in these terms limits refund or cancellation rights that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Third-party services
WordRay depends on third-party platforms and service providers, including application stores, cloud infrastructure, authentication services, email delivery services and device capabilities.
Your use of a third-party service may also be governed by that provider’s terms. WordRay is not responsible for independent third-party services outside our reasonable control.
13. Privacy
Our collection and handling of personal information is described in the WordRay Privacy Policy.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using WordRay at any time. You may delete your account using the controls described on our account deletion page.
We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary if:
- You materially or repeatedly violate these terms
- Your activity creates a security or legal risk
- The account is used for fraud, abuse or unlawful activity
- We are legally required to restrict access
Where appropriate, we will provide notice or an opportunity to resolve the issue unless doing so would create a security risk, violate the law or allow continuing abuse.
15. Intellectual property
WordRay, its name, logo, application design, original software and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Except for the limited right to use WordRay under these terms, no rights are granted to WordRay trademarks, source code, designs or other proprietary material.
16. Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by applicable law, WordRay is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, perfect document conversion, or compatibility with every file, device or third-party service.
Mandatory consumer protections and warranties that apply in your country are not excluded by these terms.
17. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, WordRay will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of or inability to use the service.
This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited, including liability arising from fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury, or mandatory consumer-protection law.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to WordRay, applicable law or our service providers. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice where reasonably required.
Continued use of WordRay after updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
19. Applicable law
These terms are governed by applicable law, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights or protections available in your country of residence.
Before initiating formal proceedings, you are encouraged to contact us so that we can attempt to resolve the matter.
